BASE BEGINS

Today begin my 30 week Iron Distance training program to prepare for Beach2Battleship. A million emotions are running through my head. The excitement to begin the training sometimes is taken over by the fear of failure. The time is here to open the binder and begin week #1.

The first 10 weeks are the base period. I have chosen to mesh the beginner and the intermediate plan because I am a slow runner and need the longer run times. The basic schedule is as follows:

Monday===== Rest Day
Tuesday===== Swim (AM) & Run (PM)
Wednesday===Bike/Run Brick
Thursday=====Swim (AM) & Bike (PM)
Friday ======Run
Saturday=====Long Bike- starts at 1:15 in week 1/ 3:00 in week 10
Sunday======Long Run- starts at 1:00 in week 1/ 2:00 in week 10

Total hours:
Week 1 = 6 hrs.
Week 10 = 10 hrs.

Waddling into week #1 -day #1 (Rest Day)...........

I can't wait to follow along with you either!

And I totally get the fear factor. I still get it and I'm doing the half! :-)

One day at at a time - don't go getting too far ahead of yourself there!!!!!

You can DO this....it's amazing how your mind and body will adjust to the distances and times. It really works! (And you will sleep really well!) :-)
