BACK TO OHIO

ZERO

Today we got a phone call that the family should be back in Ohio. My Hubby is heading for the airport now. I stayed behind to put the house in order and take Dakota to the kennel. The kids and I will leave between 3-4 am to beat Chicago rush hour and head east. As with any part of life there is priorities and flexibility. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Waddling east.....

UGLY MONDAY

RUN: 30 MIN. / TREADMILL / NO HR

On Saturday afternoon, my hubby and I flew to Ohio because my father-in-law had gotten worse. In the 3 weeks since diagnosis, he has lost 22 lbs. and is now jaundice with severe abdominal pain. By Sunday the pain was under control and we are talking to hospice. I flew back Sunday night and my hubby stayed behind. I had a stomach problem all weekend with alot of time in the bathroon at the hospital.

Monday, work was really bad . We had 12 people scheduled to work and 6 called in sick with stomach problems. Not sure if it is the flu or the free lunch we had catered on Friday. But it made for a challenging day.

After work, I took Hooch to the eye doctor for yearly exam and new contacts. We found she had a severe eye infection. No contacts for at least 1 week. (a crisis to a 16y.o.) And oh by the way, forgot to tell you mom but my glasses are broken. We picked out new frames and they would be ready at 8pm.

It's now 5:30 and Bino is finishing bowling practice. I pick him up then drop off Hooch's prescription at Walgreen. We drove through Culver's for supper then headed for home. My hubby then called he was flying back in at 930pm and could use a ride home from the airport. No problem.

It was 630. I ran in the house jumped on the treadmill for 30 min. I took a shower and out the door I went. I got Hooch's glasses picked up. The prescription picked up. Next I headed toward Midway to pick up hubby. I made it just in time .

I hope tomorrow is calmer but the odds are against it.

Waddling to Tuesday....

WEEK # 1 THE PIG

Tomorrow , is week#1 of marathon training. As with all plans, I know I have to be flexible but I have set some week by week goals. I did read this weekend in Runner's world that 60 min of cross-training of cardio is equivalent of 5 miles of running. That made me feel better as I plan to spin alot for my cross-training.

Here it is:
Mon. : RUN: 30 min.
Tue. : SPIN: 60 min.
Wed. : RUN : 30 min.
Thu. : SPIN : 60 min.
Fri. : OFF
Sat. : SPIN : 60 min
SUN. : RUN :45 min.

CATCHING UP

RUN:45 MIN. / TREADMILL

Alot has been going on the past week ,I haven't had any time to get to the computer.

Work has gotten incredibly busy which isn't good in a cancer center. We are down to 1 treatment machine until our new one gets operational in February. On friday we began treating at 630am and finished at 6pm.

Hooch had cheerleading tryouts, Bino started practice with the bowling team. These things were miles apart so I just put my taxi sign up on my car. Hooch is 16 and reminds me if I would just let her get her liscence it would be sooo much easier. I don't agree. Especially if you've riden with her.

My father in law has had a tough week. He is still having radiation to his brain. Now having nausea and vomiting. He is in the ER right now in Cleveland. They are doing a CT so I'm saying my prayers.

As far as training that has sucked. But Monday is week 1 of my 26 week training schedule for the marathon. I felt good on the treadmill today. Tomorrow I'll try to make Tony's spin class. Thursday I did go to spin an Mary had a killer workout to some of my music I gave her but I just wasn't clikcing in with everything on my mind. It did help to go.

One other thing-today is Ironman Florida. I'm watching Nancy Toby(2484) and Trimama(2297) with excitement and cheering them on. Good luck to you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waddling off.......

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

MON AND TUES. = ZERO

Monday was absolutely the most perfect fall day. It was in the 60's and sunny. Unfortunately ,I was in bed with a migraine. I always miss the best days. My legs were alittle tired so maybe it was good.

Tuesday , back to work. I met my 3 new radiation therapy students today. I will have them for 2 years as a clinical instructor. So the day was spent teaching alot of basics. They are going to be excellent ,I can tell. When I got off, Hooch was manning the house for trick or treat. Bino had bowling practice so I had to pick him up and McDonald's because of lack of time and energy. I did get to see some treaters. Most interesting was the 3 year old pirate with bad tasting snot in his mouth that had me help him spitting it out. Dad stood down on the driveway. Hubby got home but a friend's car had broke down and he left to help them. Hooch's boyfriend then showed up and I was not about to head for the gym. So my workout was zero.

I have rewritten and revised my training plan for the FLYING PIG . Next week is WEEK #1.
I will if not injured set my goal to break 6 hours. I have done 6:30 both years at Chicago. Jeanne has inspired me that I can do it.

A new blog to visit. My friend got her blog up and going and love reading her. She just signed up for IRONMAN LOUISVILLE. Go visit Iron Snoopy.

PERFECT DAY FOR A MARATHON

RUN: 55 MIN

Today is the perfect day to run a marathon. The temperature when Dakota and I went out was 40, no wind and sunny. I felt great running. There was just a couple of things missing:

1. I wasn't running a marathon- not in shape
2. Chicago marathon was last weekend.
3. MCM is today but it's in DC.
4. NYC is next weekend- not entered or ready.

Hopefully someday , I'll have a day like today to run a marathon.
