BUBBLING TO OHIO
I spent last night with my head in a bowl of water. Not my whole head but just my face. I took the suggestion to get a large bowl of water and set it on the counter and practiced breathing and turning my head. My son wanted to take a picture with his camera phone because no one would believe him. NO WAY! I think I've got the hang of it a little bit. But I will not give up. I have to get this to do a triathlon.
I am going to my dad's house to stay and running the USAF Half marathon on Saturday. I love this race! You start at the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson ans it is a lovely bu hilly course on the base. Military from all over the world come in to run this. There is also alot of competition between the armed forces. All the water stops are done by the military and the patriotism is unbelievable. The problem this year is that I am totally not trained for a half. Especially on these hills. I plan on doing a 3 run:2 walk ratio (minutes). Enjoy everything and the smile on my 85 year old dad's face when I finish. It will be followed by an evening at one of my cousin's kid's good old country wedding with square dancing. Yee-haw!!!
Waddling to Ohio.....................

OMG! I have wanted to do this race FOR YEARS! Good for you! And good luck! Can't wait to hear how it goes.
That bowl trick really works. Keep at it and you'll get the hang of breathing :)
Have fun at the 1/2. I wish my Dad could see me do a race :(
I grew up in that area - Yellow Springs. I'll be thinking of you out there on what may end up being your best 1/2 M every. It's funny how those things work. Enjoy!
My sister lives near Wright-Patt. Small world. Anyway...keep at the breathing practice. I also used to do something where I hung on to the edge..dunked under and practices making bubbles, then coming up for a quick breath...then down again making bubbles. Not sure if that would help you or not, but it really helped me.
This race holds a special place in my heart also. It was the first race I ran. I know you don't know me but good luck. I will be running also.
Plus that trick with the bowl sounds good. I am thinking of doing tri's and I have to work on the breathing technique.
Good luck

Cool you are running the USAF half! It would be a conveninet race for me, too, but have not yet connected with it. Give some love to the Army guys if you see them for my son in Baghdad and my youngest in ROTC!
the 3/2 sounds like a good plan. Relax, enjoy it and remember your do-see-do!!! Yehaaww and Oooohraaaah!
Hey there:
I was thinking that YOU were also running Chicago this year. Am I remembering incorrectly?
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your half marathon! I look forward to the post race details!
Sounds like a fun weekend! ANY time I go to Ohio, I have a great time! You have one too! (Dance the night away!)
