ELLIPTICAL : 45 min..
I went to work early to get things everything turned on then went to the shape shop to do the elliptical. I love to work out there because of the DVD players and TV they have hooked up to all the treadmills and ellipticals. Today I watched Miami Vice. The time went quick and I felt good. ( I should after 3 days off.)
Tomorrow is long run day. My goal 3:30 with a 4r:1w ratio. I never look at miles. I have 5 weeks until my first race- a half marathon. I spent time today getting all my winter clothes out. Then I found my fuel belt and 3-Gu. I charged my MP3 although I think I'll run without it. I wish my Garmin was here but Patient-I'll have it next week.

ELLIPTICAL : 45 min..

I have had the week from hell at work. The training has been intense. Our patient workload has has gone through the roof. How do you tell a cancer patient you're too busy? I can't. I have also a few patients under treatment that have broken through that wall that I try to keep up so that I do not get too close. Last weekend, I worked both days . I also have to go in tomorrow to treat an ICU patient on a ventilator. Last night I really believed that I was at my limit. I just was too exhausted too work out. I may make it to the treadmill tonight. Thus my reward:
THE GARMIN 305 FORERUNNER
I ordered it online tonight and it should be here early next week. I am so psyched. My friend, DD, got the 205 this week and did a workout with it last night and it is so cool. I am the biggest geek ever so I new that I would have to get one. I decided on the 305 because I like the HR monitor in spin class and a few different things it has for biking! After a week that literally sucked, I rewarded myself!
The weekend is approaching quickly and the weather guy predicts a warm-up (to 20). I will run outside on Sunday my long run of 3:30.
Waddling and hoping next week is better...........

Today was my hubby's birthday. It was a tough one for him. This is the first one since his father passed away. His dad would always pick out such a special card and mail it. The kids and I did our best to make it a good birthday and we all went to Outback for dinner.
I haven't had much time to read many blogs but I hope to catch up over the next couple of days. I think it's fascinating to reads where everyone is at and how training is going or not going. It helps me alot to read how hard other people are working and it motivates me especially in this weather we are having.
Waddling in to watch American Idol.........

MON. : RUN : 45 min. / treadmill
TUES.: SPIN: 1:00 / Ave HR = 146 /Max HR= 169
Yesterday was a blur. The computer conversion at work hit some problems. After a 9 hour day, I felt like we had sorted out most of the bugs. It left me with a positive feeling and I felt good on the treadmill.
Today went good also treating patients with the new system. The people I work with have really hung together and gotten throught all this, Next week is another week of training on the imaging system and I think that will be all the new stuff for a little while.
Besides having the artic air to deal with today we had about 5 inches of snow. It turned everyone's drive home a nightmare in Chicago. I went to spin class to find only 2 people there instead of the usual crowd of 30-40. The guy behind me told me class was cancelled. I was locked in and just kept spinning. A few minutes later the yoga instructor and another spin instructor came in . They threw a CD in and we had an unofficial, impromtu spin class. It rocked and what a great workout! Just what I needed.
Waddling with droopy eyes..........
