NOTHING AS PLANNED

ELLIPTICAL : 30 min.

Today was one of those days that you think you know what's happening from the beginning then everything backfires. Hooch had a cheer competition so she needed to catch the bus at 545am. My thought do my long run after I drop her off. First change-the bus time to 815. I'm up early but not enough time for the run so I head for the elliptical for 30.

Cleaning the house was the next thing to do but everyone else was still sleeping. I took my showqer and headed for the grocery which was packed with people preparing for the Bears game. I survived got home and tried to start the laundry. Hooch hurt her back at the cheer competition and had to be taken care. I cancelled my dinner plans with a friend .

Next stop-the vets on the way to look at some new model homes for my MIL. Guess what -the humane society is there with dogs for adoption.(I already have adopted2). I saw one that I and my hubby fell in love with. He was a cross between a beagle and a hound. He has been there 2 months because he is 3 years old and everyone wants a puppy. Now I have 3 dogs. One of which I hope to give to my MIL for company.

After all this, I hope to hit the sack early. At this time there are 2 dogs and 1 hubby in the bed.

ANOTHER ON THE SCHEDULE

I signed up for another event today. I am doing the duathlon which is a 2 mile run, 17 mile bike, then 4mile run. I did it last year and really enjoyed the course. I do need to defend my title. I finished 1 of 1 in my age group(45-49). And I was the oldest female finisher in the Du. (I don't know if that's an honor or not) But it was fun!

I am taking today as a rest day and plan to do the long run tomorrow. Legs are getting alittle tired. Looking toward next week,I might try a Yoga class again on Monday night. And that is might. we'll see. Also Monday is a big day for my department at work and I'll write about that later.

ROCK 'N SPIN

SPIN :60MIN./ AVE HR= 144 /MAX= 168

I made it to spin class tonight and got one of the last bikes. There are almost 50. It's amazing how many people come out after Jan. 1. I had a new instructor. I have experienced a few bad ones so I was sort of worried about the workout. K. was great. You could tell she did alot of outside riding and did her class towards that. Her music defintiely rocked and she cranked it up. When the first song was AC/DC "Thunderstruck", I was a happy as a pig in shit. My heart rate didn't go up like usual but I felt like there was alot of effort there.

Looking to the week-end. I need a long run of 2:30. The weather outside is supposed to really suck especially on Sunday. Either day looks like it could be on the treadmill.

Waddling while rocking out.............

NOTHING MUCH

RUN: 30 min. / TREADMILL

Not much to say today. I had a busy day at work with alot of fires to put out. My plan for tonight was to go to spin but I felt like someone took the air out of my sails. I headed for the basement for a quiet 30 min on the treadmill. Felt good.

Waddling to bed early.........

UNEXPECTED WORKOUT

ELLIPTICAL TRAINER : 30 min.

Tonight is the monthly meeting of the Y-Me support group that I facilitate for. Usually I am so busy up until it begins at 6pm that I count it as a off day for training. Today I finished work early and did not have to run home or do an errands. I went down with a friend to the Shape Shop which is a gym here at work and did the elliptical for 30 minutes. It felt good but when I got off I felt some muscles that I hadn't felt in awhile. Now to grab a salad for dinner before the meeting.

CHEERING FOR MY TEAM

RUN: 30 min. /TREADMILL/ AVE HR=125

After running around like a maniac after work for the kids, I finally hit the treadmill at 630pm. I expected to have really tired legs but felt good. I wanted to get done early to watch the big game. I was positioned in front of the TV by 730 and ready to cheer for my alma mater. First play of the game was a touchdown. After that it was downhill and following halftime, I dozed right off. It was a great year for them but they were just not up for the championship.

On the eating fron, I've decided to use a 1400 calorie per day diet broken down as follows:

  • Fat = 39 g
  • Sat Fat = 13 g
  • Carbs = 175 g
  • Protein= 70 g
  • Cholestrol= 300 mg
  • Sodium = 2400
  • Fiber = 30 g
  • Sugar = 100 g

I am not sure how this will be with training. As always--flexibilty.

BACK IN THE GYM

RUN: 2:00HR / TREADMILL/ 4R:1W

I knew this morning I needed to get a long run in. I got up at 6am and felt good. No teeth or mouth pain. That Vicodan is the wonder drug. I started weighing my options. First to go outside for the long run. The weather was sunny, no wind and 39. I could take Dakota with me. My concern was the cold air on where my teeth were pulled and if I developed a problem like bleeding or pain how far would I be from home. I chose option 2 which was to go to the gym. 2 hours is boring on a treadmill but I felt more comfortable there today.

I arrived at the gym by 7am so the craziness of the beginning of the year hadn't started yet. I had 1 Gu and a large water botttle. I tried something different to keep the boredom away. I changed treadmills and location every 30 minutes. For the 1st 30 ,I was by the personal training area. It took my mind off of things watching the trainers enjoy torturing people. The second 30 min. I was to the far back of the gym watching all the people for rows and rows in front of me. That was also entertaining. The third 30 min. I went way up front. I caught up on the 8am news and weather for the day. The final 30 ,I went over to the far side by the large window and watched the people coming and going(also the valet parking). It actually went fast. My legs were tired at the end but no other complaints.

When I got home, I got on the scales . This will be my first weigh-in. I have lost 2.5 lbs. Not as much as I wanted but a start. This week I intended to increase my water intake to at minimum 64ozs. It was already time to pick my hubby up at Midway. Time flies when you're having fun!

Waddling to the airport.............
