RAMBLNGS FROM THE ROAD

RUN : OUTSIDE: 90 MIN. : AVE PACE 14:03

I spent all day on Friday trying to figure out what to do in my training this weekend. My hubby and Bino went to Florida for a drag racing thing. Hooch was busy all weekend. The weather was going to be decent. First thought -biking outside. No still alittle cold. I need to do a long run but there is a great 2 hour spin at the gym. I'm not that far in to the marathon training that I couldn't substitute. I could actually run outside with Dakota and not go on the treadmill.

The decision was to go out with Dakota. I tried to keep my pace at about 14:00 but everytime I looked at my watch it was at 12:45-13:00. I was going to do the ratio 4:1 but I got lost in the music most of the time. By the time that I got back to the house my legs were alittle pooped.

It's amazing though that when you run outside you can think so much clearer. My thoughts were going to next weekend when my mother in law is in for XMAS. It will be her first year alone. But at our house with 2 kids ,2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 goldfish,it is always interesting.

I am finally starting to get into the spirit of the season. My tree is up. (No ornaments but it's a start) . I bought 6 presents. So maybe I'm on the way. Also I'm having dinner with a friend then if not too much under the influence going to a party with some biking maniacs. LOL.

ANOTHER DAY IN THE SUN

RUN : 30 min

Unbelievable! Another perfect evening for a run. I got home early again. The sun was shining and the temp was 54. I left the house a mess. Dakota and I headed out the door. I left so fast I forgot any gadgets except my MP3. I really had a good section of songs come on during the run including Stevie Nicks and Melissa Ethridge. I know that spin was on the schedule tonight but that's why there are pencils and flexibility. Felt great with no complaints.

Today was one of those days that give you the warm and fuzzies. I watched the sun go down and just felt thankful for all that I have.

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS

RUN : 45 min. : NO HR : Pace = 12:45-13:15

Finally, a chance to get out again. I opened at work so I was off by 3. The sun was shining. The temperature was a balmy 47. I didn't care what the house looked like, supper or anything else. There was no way I was going to miss a day like this.

As soon as I got home, I grabbed Dakota and off we went. I felt good. Watching the sun set was aweome. As we ran by the cornfield, the geese flew. Itwas just the perfect evening.

I hear from some biking friends the weather will be good for the weekend. Could it be a ride in December???

Waddling outsise.....

FEELING LIKE SCROOGE

RUN : Tempo : 30 min. treadmill / Pace 12:45 / AVE HR=142

I haven't done anything for Christmas. No shopping, no tree, no lights, no card and no cookies. I don't get it. I'm usually on the ball. With only 13 days left time is running out. I have no great reason or story. Oh well, sometimes you just go with the flow.
My legs tonight on the run were really tired. I was hoping to go for 45 min. By the end of 30, the legs were achy. I did run the tempo alitlle faster this week.
Waddling with no Christmas spirit.......

LOOKING AT ZONES

Elliptical : 35 MIN./AVE HR= 123

In my training runs recently ,I have tried to focus on pace. I also am interested in HR zones.I had a MAP test done at the gym several weeks ago to figure out what they are.

The results:
Zone 1= 101-117 HR
Zone 2= 117-151 HR
Zone 3= 151-168 HR
ZOne 4= 168--->

I knew today was an easier workout so my goal was to stay in zone 2. I need to do some more reading on this. Any ideas are appreciated.

Yesterday , I realized Ironman Hawaii was on TV. I missed the first hour. I could not move from my chair. It gives me chills to watch. I would giove anything to do one but the fact that I can't swim presents a problem. Never say never.
