March blew in today. Rain, thunderstorms, and wind. There were no breaks in the weather today even though it was almost 50. I would like to think the white stuff is behind us but of course there is more on the way this week-end.

Tonight I went to the gym heading for spin class. When I was walking up the stairs, I felt a twinge of pain in my rt groin. Something told me not to spin so I headed for the treadmill. At about 35 mins. out of a planned hour, it just did not feel right so I shut down. I can't quite put my finger on it-it's just not right. I'll rest tomorrow and hope for a long run this weekend.

Total : 20:50
RUN : 11:50

Tomorrow the family and I are heading to Ohio. It's my dad's 85th birthday. He's an awesome man an my hero and idol. I know he's excited that we're coming and I can't wait to get there.

Waddling to wish my dad a Happy 85th Birthday...........

R & R

TUESDAY: SPIN : 60 MIN. : AVE HR= 154/MAX=174

Last night I went to spin. Mare had a interval workout for us. There were 5 x 10min. intervals. Each section went 1 min pace,1 min hard, 2 min. pace, 1 min hard, 3 min pace, 1 min hard then 1 min pace. Rest then new interval. She said it will creep up on you. It kicked my butt from the start.

We had to take my MIL to the ER today. Her legs were swollen because her MD took her off her water pills. She came to where I worked so I was able to keep an eye on things. She came home and is doing better this PM.

I opted to take the night off. We had a small amount of snow. My legs were tired and my mind was wishing that I was on a beach somewhere.

Waddling and thinking of warm days ahead..........

ELLIPTICAL : 35 min.

The gym was packed tonight. I was talking to one of the trainiers and they said the beginning of March is busier than January. That's because people are getting ready for spring break, swimsuits, and springtime events. I guess that I can believe that. You could tell there were alot of newbies trying out stuff and trying to get into shape in 1 night at the gym. But at least they got there. I hope alot of people stick with it. But I wonder what percentage really do.

My MIL got her today from Cleveland. She looks alot more tired than last time like she hasn't been sleeping well. Hopefully she can get some rest with us and get into a routine. It's been tough on her but with alot of love and support we'll get through this.

To a blogger friend, my thoughts and prayers are with you in this tough time. You will find time to sort your thoughts within your training.

Waddling to read before bed........

RUN = 2:00 / TREADMILL /4R:1W

OK-- we give up!!! Enough with the winter on the weekends. I promise everyone that I will never train for a spring marathon again. Yesterday morning would have been great for my long run but I had other commitments. Then boom-WINTER STORM WARNING. You have got to be kidding. I will not redo my training schedule again. It is 3 weeks until my half marathon. It is on a challenging, hilly course. And the way my luck has been going , it will be a blizzard or tornado.
I did feel good on the treadmill today. Two hours almost seemed like a short run. This week I may do a spin:run brick. I need to get my weekly time increased. Also I have a duathlon 2 weeks after the marathon.

Waddling out to shovel again....
