BACK TO SCHOOL ROCKS

SPIN: 60 MIN.

This morning was foggy and gray outside. Rain was threatening. But all that was ok. Today Mary began her spin class again that was cancelled for the summer due to outside biking. At 745am everyone starting showing up to grab their preferred bikes. There was the big navy guy up front, Dawn and Roger over to the far side, the 2 sisters in the back, Rhonda in the middle and me in the 2nd row on the end. There are 48 cycles and each on was filled. It felt like the first day back to school after summer vacation. The music was 70's and 80's rock and roll. It was one of the best classes I've been to. We did an endurance ride with some hills. Next week ,I hope to spin on Tues and Thurs also.

SUB-PAR SPINNING

SPIN: 60 MIN.

I love spin class. It's my opportunity to get a good group workout and not get left behin. Mary teaches on Tuesday and Thursday. Mary is a friend and one of the biggest motivational people in my life. Tonight she was off and we had a sub. I knew from the moment I walked in that I didn't like her style. I can't put my finger on it. Then we had to ride and hover for 2 minutes. She came up beside of me and said if anyone needs help pushing their butt back she'd be glad to help. I felt like she wanted to help ME. My butt was back-it's just big.If she would have touched me I would have decked her. I did get my heart rate up and had a good workout. Hopefully Mary is back on Thursday.

PIG FACT OF THE DAY: Pigs are mentioned twice in the Bible. Sheep are mentioned 45 times, and goats 88 times

PHASE ONE BEGINS!

RUN: 30 MIN. / 13:10 AVE PACE

With the half this weekend, I offically ended my 2006 season. I had a couple of other race possibilities but just don't feel any motivation to do them. So it's on to the beginning of my marathon training which I am ready for.

Phase 1:

  1. From September 18 until Jan 1
  2. Weight loss 20 lbs.
  3. Focus on strength training
  4. Spin 2 minimum /week
  5. Keep weekend run at 90 min.
  6. d0 mid week run of 60 min at marathon pace.
  7. Do run training by time not miles.

Tonight, I ran 30 min. I tried to keep my pace around 13:00/mile. To break 6 hours in the marathon I need a 13:43 pace.

I am excited really excited about this. I felt my first marathon was a great experience. My second sucked because of my ITB. But ther is something that is just feeling right about this one.

PIG FACT OF THE DAY:In days gone by, sea captains kept pigs on board because they believed, should they be shipwrecked, pigs always swam toward the nearest shore.
