Another complaint about the weather is coming. The plan was to ride outside. The plan included riding at 7am to get done before the rain and storms hit. The plan also included riding with friends. The plan did NOT include 20 mph winds gusting to 35 mph. Flipper, Candy, and I battled the elements for 1:15. We saw many others out there facing the same challenge. Another rider tole me that the wind was Chicago's way of making up for the lack of hills.

This afternoon, I made a trip to Performance Bicycle for a pair of riding gloves. I found an awesome saddle on clearance. Woohoo! I love a bargain. I hope that I love the saddle as much as the price.

Waddling to get ready for Sunday's run....

Unexpectedly last week-end, I found a new channel on Cable that I love. I don't know where it came from or how long it as been there. It is called Universal Sports. On Saturday, it was replays of Ironman Kona from 2002-2007. I recorded all of them. On Monday evening, I watched the replay of the Boston Marathon. I was thrilled and was so excited to see how the Americans finished. Just now they advertised the London Marathon will be aired on Sunday.

Another channel that I constantly watch is the weather channel. Living in Chicagoland, there is always a variety. For example, this Monday the forecast was for snow followed by Friday with 80 and sunshine. With the improvement in weather there is hope to ride outdoors this weekend. Also this weekend is the last long run for Snips and I before the Indy 500 Mini.

Waddling while watching Universal Sports......................

Yesterday, although it was raining, was a great workout. Snips, Flipper, and I met at 630am and went up to the spin room. Flipper plugged in her Ipod and we took off for a 90 min. spin. The time actually went fast with all the chatting that was going on. After the spin, we changed and went for a 30 min. swim. Not much chatting going on here. There were alot of tri-friends at the gym with the crappy weather that was outside.

In the afternoon, Hooch and I met Snips at Naperville Running company. The purpose was to get new shoes to help with my plantar fascitis and to sign up for the Subaru Women's Tri. After testing out several pair, I ended up with a pair of New Balance.

Looking back at week 1, I trained 6 of 7 days for a total of 7:30 hrs. All worouts were in Zone 2 except my swim. My legs were alittle tired but ready to head into week 2. I am hoping some spring weather will show up soon although there is SNOW in the forecast for tonight.

Waddling into a new week................
