SWIMMER'S HIGH

I have heard of runner's high but has anyone heard of swimmer's high? I think I felt it this morning. Because tomorrow is Easter, I will miss swim so I headed to the pool today. My goal was to get a distance session in by myself. No coach, white board or other swimmers. Unfortunately I got up late and the lap pull was full and I had to wait for my one lane but it was worth it.

I was in no hurry to complete my workout the most important part was to get it done.

warm-up : 150
1 x 500 followed by 50 kick
1 x 500 followed by 50 kick
1 x 500 followed by 50 kick
1 x 300
TOTAL =2100
Time 1:06

I know now 2 things:
  1. I could do the distance
  2. I could complete it under 1:25

Waddling with a big smile......................

That's so cool you'll be in Naperville too! If you're not already booked, maybe you'd consider joining us for dinner the night before? We always sneak over to the Olive Garden the rest of the racers don't seem to be aware of so we've never had to wait in line to carbo load : )

I can barely stay afloat long enough to try and get this so called, "runner's high" but congrats and getting it yourself.

I knew nothing about getting a buzz from exercise until I started swimming. I almost always leave the locker room with a shimmer and a glow - I love it! Could be O2 deprivation for all I know but it feels great so I don't want to know the answer.

Yes, I have! Sometimes a swim can clear your head, just as running does! What a great feeling.

I hope you had a happy Easter!
