WAITING

For the past 10 days, I have been able to use one excuse or another not to go to the gym. I know my personal life has been hectic. I also know that work has been very intense. If I really wanted too , I could have made time to get to the gym but I have been extremely tired and unmotivated.

I am motivated by goal setting and planning. On December 1, I will know if I will have the opportunity to give an Iron distance race a shot in 2009. I hate to get my hopes up until I actually know that I am in the race. Does this sound like one more excuse??

I have the 2009 season set in my mind and have spent time laying out some of the training but in 6 days I will know for sure.

Waddling and waiting...................

I feel the same way right now...but am using the fact that I have a cold right now and I've been busy with Thanksgiving preparations.

Right there with you on the "unmotivated" aspects of late November.

It is cold, dark and I'm in the "de-training" phase (as my coach so aptly phrased it the other day...)

I had to sign up for a bunch of 2009 events to remind me that -- Oh, yeah! I am an active person! -- again.

I'm excited to hear if you got in to the Iron distance event. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Is B2B really expected to sell out that fast? Most non M-Dot races don't. Just sign up fast so you don't have any time to think about it!

I think it's natural to be unmotivated during the offseason.

Fingers crossed for you

It can be good to pause for a breath before determining the goals for the coming season.
Hope you are enjoying the moment.
