INCREASES

This will be week #5 in my Iron training. As I glance at the week ahead, I notice increases in my weekly workouts. My Tuesday 30 min run and my Thursday 30 min bike both change to 45 minutes. My long weekend stuff increases the run to 90 min. and the bike to 1:45. My other goal for the week is to get to Master's swim earlier or at least on time to get some more distance completed.

I have been feeling the increases in the strength of my legs. At times they do feel like they are getting stronger and other times they are just more tired. Sounds weird doesn't it.

There is just 4 weeks until my first Tri of the year which is Subaru Sprint in Naperville. it feels good to start with one close to home.

Waddling into a new week.............

Wow, I had no idea Naperville (-thrill? haha) hosts a tri. Good luck with your kicked-up training this week!

Yes, I remember how my legs sometimes felt like they were getting stronger and other times just more tired too. I think it's part of the training process. If you find you have tired legs week after week, though, then perhaps you're not getting enough rest or refueling enough. I find the latter to be quite challenging.

I hope you experience more days when they feel stronger and less when they feel tired!

4 weeks til your first tri of the season? Fun stuff!

I think your legs feeling strong/weak is absolutely on target.

I can't believe you're so far along on your Ironplan so far!

I've got 4 weeks to go for my first tri of the summer too, and it has been really cold here. Not really excited about those open water swims -- yet.

You are on your way!! I will say, in my VERY limited experience, that the last month before taper the whole 'feeling stronger' thing disappears and turns 100% into legs are tired, bone-a$$ tired. All. The. Time.

You are going to be iron baby!

Good luck on your first tri of the year!

I can't wait to read about it.

Based on what you've already done, it's gonna be a breeze!

Keep growing!
