BETTER THAN NOTHING
ELLIPTICAL : 40 MIN.
It was one crazy day. My plans for a workout changed by the minute. I'll spin- No run- Maybe run & elliptical. No just ellipitical. I did 40 min. Felt good and stopped!
Work today challenged me almost to my max with problems for the upcoming computer conversion. It was supposed to be simple but as norm is getting very complicated. Alot of verification ahead for us before we can start treating patients again on Tuesday. Last thing I want to do is mistreat a patient with a large dose of radiation.
I had a great lunch today. It definitely was not on my diet. One of my patients brought in a container of food for the Center for lunch. It was filled with home cooking. There was salad, homemade dressing, bread, spaghetti, and a Texas sheet cake. I was had! Can't turn that down.
The weekend has also been on my mind and I need to let it go. I need a 3:30 long run and our weather is going polar. Possibly sub-zero. I can't imagine that run on a treadmill. My running buddy, DD, thinks it will be fine with the right kind of clothes. I'm letting it go. As of right now--I'm outside.
Waddling into Friday......

Hey 40 mins is good!!! I had my big post this morning about running every day. Yeah, well, all I got was 10 mins on the elliptical today. That's okay!!! It's defintely better than sitting on my butt!!!
Like you said, BTN. Everything counts. Sometimes, just getting to the gym is an effort. As for the deep freeze, I'm there with ya! Can we schedule a weekend in the sun somewhere??
40mins is better than the big fat goose egg I scored yesterday!
Good luck this weekend. I can handle running down to about 20deg. I've tried it at 12deg and was miserable. Single digits and below - well, I'm sure *I* wouldn't go out.
Best of luck on your long run...if you dress for it you will be fine! (This is coming from someone who wears tights and a wool long sleeve when it's 39 degrees out in the a.m....and mittens!)
You, my friend, would be in shorts!
I'm with the crowd - anything beats nothing. My workout today consisted of walking from one end of the Oakland Airport to the other. Somes days you just have to take what you can get.
Here is little movie that the RBFs Blogfather (Mark) did to demonstrate how to dress for running in the very, very cold weather. I'm sure you could modify this to fit your needs!

Can't blame you for dreading 3.5 hours on a treadmill. Maybe you can break it up into two sessions, like 2.5 hours, then 1 hour later that day. Is there an indoor track where you work out? If so, you can do some track, then treadmill, then track...
Good luck.
