2008 SEASON

Monday will officially begin my 2008 training season. I've picked 6 goal races. There will be no marathons in 2008 as I want to try triathlons this year. I do plan on doing 2 half marathons because I love that distance.

Here it is:
2008
5/3 Indy 500 Half Marathon--I love running this race with the 35,000 others. Great experience no PR.
5/17 Galena Triathlon --- I have done the Duathlon the past 2 years. It was well run with a very challenging bike course. Swim 660 yd / bike 16.8 mile/ run 4.3 mile
6/25 Subaru Women's Triathlon -- This Tri is the closest Tri to my house and I have always watched from the sidelines. I am looking forward to being close to home.
8/2 Steelhead 70.3 Half Ironman --- Now I have said it out loud!! This will be my "A" race for 2008. I am so excited!
8/24 Chicago Accenture Triathlon --- A world class race close by. Looking forward to the experience.
9/20 Us AirForce Half Marathon -- A trip home to Ohio to see my dad. The best half that I have ever run.

Well - there it is. All official looking. Monday , October 1st is game on to lay the base. Hang on for a ride!!!!

Waddling with a huge smile .......................

I'm doing the subaru one too. I love it. I've done it the past two summers. Another good series is the Danskin series. It is right over the border in Wisconsin. I haven't done it, but it is on my tri schedule for '08. We'll have to definetly meet up the day before the subaru one for dinner or something. I met two bloggers last year the night before dinner.

Where are you at again? I'm in Wauconda. Have you heard of it?

Joining the Tri craze!!! Good for you! Swimming is still my nemesis, but it does get easier every race. I also laid out my season for 08 and it is a lot of fun. Have a great season and I look forward to following your successes :-)

Woo hoo! Hopefully I'll be joining you in 08! Now that its out in the open, the real challenge begins. With your biking and running, all you have to do is add that li'l ole swim. I had better start training!

WHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!

That is awesome!

You are way ahead of me with your planning so I will consult the forces that be and try to get to at least one of your races.

I'm happy for you. Going after your dreams and making them happen. Stay safe out there on the roads. I pray that you get to all your starting lines healthy and have a blast when you cross those finish lines.

I can not believe you're going for a 1/2 your first year out. I'm dying to do one but just can't bring myself to commit. Maybe I just need to hang around you more :)

I'm impressed you have your year planned already. Since I'm moving to a new state, I don't know what the events are there. Other than Big Sur, I haven't thought about what I want to do.
