SCARY
I realized today something very scary about swim lessons tomorrow. I need to wear a swimsuit. I haven't worn one in years. This cat was the last one to see me in one. So shopping I go. When the fall and winter clothes are out there are not many suits to choose from. Besides finding one in my size.
Mission accomplished. One more step toward swimming.

I can totally relate. I basically hate the way I look in a swimsuit, so I usually show up to swim in tri shorts (like bike shorts, but with a smaller chamois pad that dries fast) and a sports top. I don't exactly look like someone going to the pool, but it makes me feel much more comfortable in public.
Is there a fate worse than swimsuit shopping?

I remember last year when my trainer told me to get a suit and hit the pool! I was terrified! I wanted to lose 100 pounds first! But I toughed it out and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Besides, you're a lot cuter than I am! :-) You'll do fine!
Yay you for swimming! :) I think you will like it. Do not get discouraged. It is stupid hard at first, but once you get it -- like riding a bike -- it gets a lot easier!

Sometimes its not the suit that is so bad, its just trying them on in front of that mirror under those lights that show no mercy! Good for you making the first leap. Can't wait to hear about it.
