UPDATE

Another hectic week, I finally have a minute to catch-up.

It was a good training week. After masters swim on Tuesday, I did another swim workout on Thursday. My problem remains relaxing with my breathing. When you bike and run, you fall into a natural rhythm. There is nothing natural about swimming and breathing to me. By the end of 25 , I am breathing hard and grabbing for air. I decided to (cover your ears) put my nose clips back on. I was able to relax and do 50. So I am in a dilema again.

I also got in a really good spin workout at 530am. The instructor was intense. There were some good intervals with hill climbs. I recognized several people from my master's swim. I focused on my HR zones. I stayed mostly in zone 2 with intervals in zone 3.

Tomorrow, I plan on getting up and running a 5.5 mile run for Ryan. How sad he was so young. My prayers to his family.

In other news, Bolingbrook ,where I live, has been on the news alot lately. Just down the road lives Sgt. Drew Peterson whose 4th wife is missing. Now his 3rd wife who died suspiciously has been exumed from her grave. Not a day goes by without passing news crews. I think this will someday be a made for TV movie. Even Geraldo was here last weekend.

Waddling into the weekend........

Me too. I'm running (or walking if I have to) the 5.5 miles for Ryan.

By the way, it took me a while to figure out what the picture was of.

Who is Ryan?

I forgot you live in Bolingbrook. We should get together sometime. I'm up in Wauconda, which is by Barrington and Lake Zurich.

Ryan is Ryan Shay who was an American marathoner with a bright future aho passed away at mile 5.5 in the NYC marathon. It was the US qualifier for him for the olympics. He was a bright star.

Thanks. I realized who he was after I posted that. Thanks.

Have you tried swimming really really slow and when you start to not feel relaxed then just stop? Almost like a float, with very little propulsion just thinking about relaxation and try the breathing then? Just a thought. You are doing so well with your swimming! I think it's amazing. I have yet to muster the courage to return to my local masters swim sessions....but I think I may be able to draft a buddy and then I think I will feel more confident and it won't bother me to be the slowest in the slow lane. ;-)

The breathing will come with swimming....I find it to be the easiest and most meditative workout of all now. Just give it time! :-)

I realized that was your town, but so close! Yikes! Good thing he's only been after his wives and not runners! We had one that will be going to Dateline soon, so it seems there is no place that is exempt from whackos! As for the nose clip? I told you, I've been wearing one for more than 10 years now, races included. I don't care if someone thinks its weird. Its something I have to have. And if you swim better with it, then you obviously have to have it too.

It was moving to run in memory of Ryan yesterday. Glad you could do it as well.

News...just got some clarity on my spring schedule and, so, I signed up yesterday for the Mini Marathon in Indy. Just made it before they hit the 35,000 cap. Will be fun!
