Did you ever just get blown away by a picture of yourself? I am talking about not in a good way. It happened to me today and it hit me really hard because it happened after 2 good workouts. (2000 swim followed by 3 mile run). I was feeling good and positive. Then the photos came from the Rockford sprint last weekend.(The photos are back but no posted results yet). I was amazed at the side view on the bike how fat that I looked.

In my mind I have a certain image of myself. That was not the person that I saw on the bike. I feel like a much thinner person especially with my winter weight loss.

I reassured myself because now I am on sugar detox day#4. I've had some good workouts this week. I I think I found a ride that I will fit right into.....

Just kidding!

Waddling finally into Friday............

All race photos make everyone look ridiculous. I'm sorry to hear they got you down. Your weight loss has been awesome. Now take a picture of you out from before the winter and compare it to now. I bet that is amazing.

Race photos are the spark for many a tear. I dunno what they do, but they always find the absolute worst angle. I can say that you do look amazing and I remember you from before the weight loss. Focus on what you can do, how strong you've gotten and what fun you're having and tell the photos to suck it!

Race results are up at www.onlineraceresults.com

Woot!

Nothing like a bad picture to give a wakeup call. And remember, doesn't the camera add 10 pounds??

OH! Now I'm scared of race pictures. Seriously though, I can't imagine how fit you would have to be to look "good" in one of those shots. Think about your fitness, what you are able to do with your body (which amazes me). And don't look at those pictures any more :)

That is EXACTLY what happened to me after my first tri. I felt all fit and fantastic and the pictures came and I was like WHOA who is that big girl on the bike! Try to shake it off and know that you are doing the best thing for your body! Look back at all the old pics and see the changes, that is what I had to do!

I usually don't like my bike photos either. I think being all hunched over doesn't make anyone look good.

The reality is my dear, you are doing something with your body that not many ladies in thier 50's would even consider - and photo be damned, YOU ROCK!
