Sorry to hear about it! I was tracking you (along with a couple of others) and saw your 25k time and then nothing more. Rest up. There will be other races. How did your friend do?

CODE RED. CODE RED. It was brutal today. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up. I tried to keep things low key since it was our anniversary weekend.

This was my 7th marathon and this was the first one I ever considered DNFing. I pretty much walked from mile 17 to the finish. Too freaking hot. Too many people. No breeze. I just don't even have words to explain the madness. A lady in my hotel said her daughter blacked out at mile 25 and she was a seasoned marathoner.

I hope you are doing okay, get some fluids and rest up! 17 miles in that heat was certainly an accomplishment.

Karen 16 miles in yesterday's temp is nothing to sneeze at... I was there as a spectator and was sweating just standing there - it was warm.

Sending hugs your way.

So sorry to hear this!! From the other comments, it sounds like the day was tough, even if not as bad as last year's race.

Hope your ankle is OK. More importantly, hope your hubby is OK following the anuerism.

Persevere...in all areas.

My first two marathons were DNFs, so I know how it feels. I'm sorry the race didn't go as you had hoped.

Heard it was warm...so sorry to hear about your DNF.

You have been through some tough times lately, and they DO take their toll.

There will be another marathon in your future no doubt. 2009- start planning now! :-)

I am still proud of you. Taking care of me has taken a toll on you emotionally and physically and has interfered in your training. For that I am sorry. Im my opinion you have completed a marathon each day since I have been injured. I love you Waddler.

Signed,

Your husband.
