HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to Mr. Waddler today!! I wish that was me popping out of the cake.

I took the day off today from work. Nothing big planned but just to relax and enjoy the day. I did get up and go to swim and get a good workout in to start things off. There were not may at swim today and I had a lane to myself. It doesn't bother me to swim with others but I am slower so that can throw people off . Everytime that I go it's an improvement.

Waddling to enjoy the birthday day........................

SUPER SUNDAY

Today is super Sunday.

Starting it of super was masters swim. It was a great workout as always. After a 300 warmup, there was drills followed by a main set of 3 x 200, 3 x 100 , 3 x 50, then 6 x 25 all out. The best part is the others that I swim with. I get so much energy out of everyone. It's great to chat about goals for 2008. Some of the group headed for spin, others stay for more swim and I headed to the bowling alley with my son.

Always for the Super Bowl, we put out a spred of food for the 4 of us. Today is no different. Bino and I went to the store. Our cart was full of chips, salsa, shrimp, wings, and cocktail hot dogs. Hooch was making her special dill pickle, cream cheese, and ham wrap. We are ready to cheer for our team. Go Patriots!!!

Waddling to watch the big game...........

TREADMILL GAMES

After the snow yesterday, My longer run had to be inside ont the treadmill. My goal was 7 miles. It was going to be a long time on the treadmill. The entire workout becomes a series of games and bargains. First game is increasing the decreasing the incline for 10 min. Next section , I drop the speed and increase the incline. At 30 min., there is a pit stop break. I opt to change tredmills to the other side of the gym. The next section is alot of speed changes followed by concentrating on form and stride. Finally I keep increasing the speed to end at 6.0 mph.

It felt like I was on the treadmill for hours but it wasn't. I signed up for a May half marathon so I need to get some additional running miles on the books.

Tomorrow is masters swim at 7am. It will not be a late Saturday night.

Waddling to relax..................

My February started of with a rest day. After getting up on time to go to spin class, I went out to warm up my car. There it was covered with 10 inches of snow. My excercise for the morning changed from spin to digging out my car and getting to work.

I knew I had to get to work because no matter what the weather is outside my patients never cancel or miss their radiation treatments. If they can make it- there is no doubt that we can make it to work.

Tomorrow , I hopefully will get a run in on the treadmill.
