BTN (BETTER THAN NOTHING)

RUN : 30 MIN. / TREADMILL

No matter how ready that you feel you are, the holidays are here befor e you know it. Last night there was a million things to do. Bino had bowling practice for a meet. Hooch was cheerleading at a basketball game. I wanted to run. Thus, I had a sinus headache. But as I always say, "It's okay!".

This morning I got up at 5am to get some laundry done, a short run, clean the house , pack a bag, then catch a 12:50 flight to Ohio. My mother-in law is spending Christmas with us this year since my FIL passed away. SHe has never flown by heself. So we will fly back tomorrow. Chicago is definelty not the airport to try by yourself for the first time. Bino will fly back with her next week.

Training over the next week will be unpredictable but isn't it always over the holiday.

RAMPING IT UP

SPIN : 65 MIN.

The EXTREME (my fav spin instructor) was back tonight after breaking her leg mountain biking. It was so good to have her back. She is so motivating. The focus of tonight class was ramping it up to spring goals and training. What a workouy! She absolutely has the ability to take you to the limit. She wil be doing the coast to coast expedition and the extreme expedittion in Moab in 2007. She is my inspiration and gives me the belief in myself. There is such a high after the hour with her.

RAMBLNGS FROM THE ROAD

RUN : OUTSIDE: 90 MIN. : AVE PACE 14:03

I spent all day on Friday trying to figure out what to do in my training this weekend. My hubby and Bino went to Florida for a drag racing thing. Hooch was busy all weekend. The weather was going to be decent. First thought -biking outside. No still alittle cold. I need to do a long run but there is a great 2 hour spin at the gym. I'm not that far in to the marathon training that I couldn't substitute. I could actually run outside with Dakota and not go on the treadmill.

The decision was to go out with Dakota. I tried to keep my pace at about 14:00 but everytime I looked at my watch it was at 12:45-13:00. I was going to do the ratio 4:1 but I got lost in the music most of the time. By the time that I got back to the house my legs were alittle pooped.

It's amazing though that when you run outside you can think so much clearer. My thoughts were going to next weekend when my mother in law is in for XMAS. It will be her first year alone. But at our house with 2 kids ,2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 goldfish,it is always interesting.

I am finally starting to get into the spirit of the season. My tree is up. (No ornaments but it's a start) . I bought 6 presents. So maybe I'm on the way. Also I'm having dinner with a friend then if not too much under the influence going to a party with some biking maniacs. LOL.

ANOTHER DAY IN THE SUN

RUN : 30 min

Unbelievable! Another perfect evening for a run. I got home early again. The sun was shining and the temp was 54. I left the house a mess. Dakota and I headed out the door. I left so fast I forgot any gadgets except my MP3. I really had a good section of songs come on during the run including Stevie Nicks and Melissa Ethridge. I know that spin was on the schedule tonight but that's why there are pencils and flexibility. Felt great with no complaints.

Today was one of those days that give you the warm and fuzzies. I watched the sun go down and just felt thankful for all that I have.
