As I continue in my training toward Steelhead, I have one question that hangs with me. I began this journey as a runner. When you train for a race at some point you either run that distance or come close. I understand how to do that.I looked at several different plans for HIM triathlon training and one thing I noticed is that is not true. With only 4 weeks left until my HIM, am I where I should be to be ready? I know that I can can do the swim. I know that I can do the bike. I know that I can do the run. My question is -Can I put it all together?

Waddling out for a bike ride...........

Yep, you sure can.

KNOW that you can. In many ways, the race is easier than the training! Have fun!

I think those things every day too. Somedays I can't help but be dismayed at what lies ahead. Let's just wish each other well and try for our best.

I feel your pain. Not as intensely as you because my tri is still four MONTHS away not four weeks but I get the idea. And YES, you can!!

Yes! Yes you can and you will. And you will have fun because that's why you are doing this.

I understand the question. You need to believe and trust your training. The answer is YES.

First off...YES, you can put it together. The concern you express is very positive. You trust the training.

On the run side...I comment as a runner, not a triathlete.

A HIM is a 13.1 mile run, right?? Most of what I've read and certainly what I expreience in my 5 HMs this spring is that you want to know you can run 13. Physiologically, it is a little different than a marathon, in that the body breaks down somewhat after/around 20 miles. But that doesn't happen for 13. So, all things being equal, it might be good for you to run 13 this weekend or next. Inside 3 weeks, though, taper to 8 or so.

Just my advice, as a runner...feel free to pitch or keep!!

I have those same fears, but somehow on race day things are easier.
