NOT AS EXPECTED

I got up this AM in plenty of time to get to the gym to make sure that I got a bike in spin class. A quick glance out the window told me that it had snowed 6 inches. I went out to warm up my Jeep and realized that I was parked in by my kids. I decided Hooch's car was the easiest to take.

I grabbed my bag and got to the gym so proud of myself for getting there early. As I was throwing things in my locker, I realized that my cycle shoes were in my car which was at home. S**t. This kind of stuff really bugs me. Mentally I was heading up the stairs to spin and setting up my bike. I felt like a little kid pouting in the locker room.

I went through the options in my mind:
  • (A) Swim except no suit.
  • (B) Run on the DREADMILL
  • (C) Spin with my running shoes.
  • (D)Go to a strength class that was just beginning

Again I felt like a little kid and wanted to stomp my feet because things did not go like I wanted.

I chose Plan B and headed to the dreadmill. I actually had a good workout and and ran 4.5 miles. As I walked to the locker room, I was pleased how the morning had went. It was funny now how childish that I had been.

Waddling to get ready for a spin class tomorrow....

It's so hard for me to change directions - it's like I get caught emotionally flat footed. Good for you to have sucked it up and gotten in your workout. So glad you felt good afterwards.

I hate it when that stuff happens..like your power to choose was briefly take away from you. Glad it turned out ok..

I'm so frequently "gear challenged" meaning that I usually forget SOMETHING...

Great job on the workout!

Nice job getting it done. I know it is really hard for me to change gears when something gets in the way of my original workout plan, so good for you for remaining committed to the workout and going to plan B!

Way to get the most of what you got. Interestingly, everyone in the spin classes I've been to wears running shoes.

Yeah, that snow was a surprise. I drove Matt to Wheaton and 10 miles south, they had very little snow. But what a bunch you had!!! Hang in there...it is winter!!!

Way to adapt! Just don't do that on IM day!!!

Good for you for making the most of the dreadmill.

You'd think our worksouts would be so "easy", but there is always stuff to remember.

Also: good luck with the snow.

Its always good to have a plan B. We all have days like that. It sounds like you made the best of it however!
