HOME ALONE

RUN : 30 min. / TREADMILL / EASY PACE (14:20) / AVE HR=142

It looked like a busy evening ahead. Bino had a bowling match from 4-630. Hooch had cheer 5-8. Hubby got off work at 530 but scheduled a 615 massage. At 515, I looked around to amazement to see that I was HOME ALONE. I could have done alot of things but I changed and hit the treadmill and turned the stereo on REAL loud. The dogs were hiding! It was an easy pace work out. I felt great. This was 6 days in a row!

I plan my long run to be 75 min. this weekend. I'm not sure what I'll do on the opposite day.

TREADMILL TEMPO

RUN: 30min. / TREADMILL / 5R:4W / 13:00 PACE / AVE HR=143

Again ,I headed for the treadmill because of the ice and temperature(and I'm a wimp). In my plan to reach my goal ,I've added a weekly tempo run. According to Runner's world Calculator and Mcmillan , I should run my tempo runs at a pace of 12:13 min/mile. Tonight on the treadmill, I did 13:00 pace. Iit was certainly challenging. I will try to increase it every week to where I need to be. My legs really felt the difference. Tomoroow will be an easy run. I can't believe that it will make 6 days in a row for me!!!

Waddling to pick up Hooch from cheer............

EASY SPIN

SPIN : 60 MIN : AVE HR= 134 / MAX =160

Tonight everything fell into place to make it to spin class. I knew Mary my favorite instructor was still off with her broken leg from mountain biking I got my bike next to Rhonda and looked up to see my least favorite. SHe teaches a very easy class but her music sucks(sorry). I did get the workout in and got home early. I was in my PJs and in bed by 830 ready to read my new Runner's WOrld. It was MIA. I am so tired - I'll try tomorrow.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

RUN: 30 min. / TREADMILL / no HR

Even I left work at 330 , my list of things to do seemed short. I was excited that I might run early and actually get to read the new RUNNERS WORLD. HA!! After going to the bank, picking up Bino from bowling then I find out Hooch has tumbling class and we're giving someone a ride to and from. My hubby needed my help and somewhere in this there was dinner. By now it's 815 and I need to pick Hooch up at 920. If I sat down I would fall asleep and forget to pick her up. SO I changed and hit the treadmill for 30min. I took a quick shower, picked her up and fell asleep in bed at 10 with my magazine in hand.

Waddling to sleep.......

THE BATTLE WITHIN

SPIN: 55 MIN. / AVE HR=143 / MAX HR= 168

I had quite the battle within myself this morning. It was one argument after another:

* I don't want to get up because it's cold but I have to drive Hooch to the school to catch a 745 bus. So I might as well go to 8am spin class.
* The bus wasn't there on time and it will make me late for spin but I should still just head to the gym.
* I am going to the gym and will pull in right at 8am. I hate to walk in spin late but alot of other people do and it will be a good work out.
* As I'm walking in ,I was thinking that 30min. on the elliptical would be good after my run yesterday.
* I got to a locker and put my HR monitor on. Next thing I know I'm heading up the stairs- my spin shoes on. Unconsciously the decision was made.

It was a good endurance work-out with alot of time in the saddle. It actually turned out fine once I got there.

FIRST LONG(?) RUN

RUN: 60min./ Treadmill /4R:1W / AVE HR=143 / AVE RUN PACE 14:26

Today was my first long run in my marathon training. I know 60 min. isn't a long run to most but considering the time I've been off ,it feels like a good place to start. Next week I'll up it to 75 min. with a longer weekday run of 45 min. I also hope to get to spinning again.

I grabbed a treadmill facing out the window today. The snow looked beautiful. It felt good to sweat when it was only 19 outside. I got to the gym early so it was not crowded yet. I am so excited to be getting back into some sort of a routine.

LOOKIN' LIKE XMAS

I actually am one of the few people who love this kind of weather. I love the freshness in the air when you are out. Do I run in it? NO, But I do go to Lifetime and get a treadmill by the window. I am sort of a wimp about being out there. I don't really mind the cold but it's all that slipping around that I do.

Today I was on the Runner's World Web site.(I had alot of patients cancel.) They have a training tool that gives you the different paces you should do your runs at for different finishing times and distance.

Here is what mine showed to run under a 6:00 marathon--
EASY RUN PACE= 14:27 MIN/MILE
TEMPO RUN PACE= 12:13 MIN/MILE
MAX O2 RUN PACE= 11:05 MIN/MILE
SPEED FORM PACE= 10:18 MIN/MILE
LONG RUN PACE= 14:27-16:06 MIN/MILE
YASSO 800'S PACE= 5:41 MIN/ 800

I have never seen this before. I really am going to try to stick to these and see what happens.

I am still researching heart rate information and training. I had a map test done. My AT is 168. Maximum fat burn is 135. I am setting up the rest of my zones.
